Waimea Canyon

Waimea is the largest canyon in the pacific. The canyon measures 10 miles long, 1 mile wide, 3500 feet deep. It was carved thousands of years ago by rivers and floods that flowed from Mount Waialeale's summit. The lines in the canyon walls depict different volcanic eruptions and lava flows that have occurred over the centuries. Numerous lookouts and hikes offer terrific views of every aspect of this natural wonder.

Blaine and I spent one day at the canyon. We drove up the canyon road and stopped at each of the many lookouts, hiking into each of them. It was amazing and so beautiful. We had a wonderful and truly unforgettable day.

Back To Blogging!

It's been a while since I've blogged! Now that the holidays are done and it is the beginning of the new year, I would like to get back to blogging. I still have lots of honeymoon pictures to post, so I am going to get that wrapped up as soon as I can.

Blaine and I have had a wonderful holiday! We made a trip to Terrace for a week, which was really great. It had been close to 4 years since we were last in Terrace and we were feeling the need to go back for a visit. I was pleased with the way everything went and really enjoyed spending time with all of our family! It was so nice to take our little Lacey with us too! She did great on the plane.

Blaine went back to work today and I am back to job hunting. My goal is to get a full time job very quickly.

I am very excited for 2011!! We have plans and dreams and I hope that this is a great year for us!!

Spouting Horn

Spouting Horn - This natural wonder occurs when water rushes under a lava shelf and bursts through a small opening at the surface. Every wave produces another spray. Spouting Horn frequently spurts salt water 50 feet in the air.
