It was a good Birthday!

So my birthday was just a nice relaxing day for me. Blaine came home for lunch, like he always does, and brought me roses and presents and then for supper we went out to Mr Mikes. It was delicious. The following evening we went out to the theatre and saw Step Brothers. It was hilarious! Here is the Birthday cake that Blaine got for me... Yum! There is also a picture of me making some Mars Bar Squares. They were great.

Oh, and thanks very much to everybody for the Birthday gifts!

My birthday Cake
Debbie and Ted sent this awesome apron for me in my Birthday parcel.

After The Fire

Four days after the fire, on July 26, Blaine and I drove out to were it was and took these pictures. It was amazing. The smell of smoke in the air was so strong and the ground was still smoldering. The fire fighters were still spraying the forest and there was smoke coming up from patches all over the place. The area that the fire had spread over was huge. You could see were the it had spread across the highway and across other roads that we drove down. The black burnt trees and smoldering ground just went on and on.

Fort Steele Fire

On July 22 there was a big forest fire about 7 km from Fort Steele. Fort Steele is 16 km northeast of Cranbrook. Blaine went out to shoot some footage. Here is a video of the B-roll that he shot.

A Great Year In The Life Of Virginia!

This summer has been great! It is my birthday in 2 days and I was thinking about all that I have done in this year of my life. It has been a good year. Last year on my birthday my Dad came to Edmonton to visit us. It was a really great surprise and a nice visit. Blaine got a great cake and surprised me with roses, and a beautiful watch which I love.

About 1 month before my birthday I had just started a new job and at the time I liked it. So after my birthday came and went I settled into my job and then in September I not only got to see one of my favorite artists in concert but I got to meet him. Blaine and I went to see Matt Good and I loved it!

September 29th was Blaine's birthday. I took him out for a lovely supper at Tony Roma's. This was our first time eating there and now as a result of that dinner, this is one of our favorite restaurants.

We had an awesome fall in Edmonton. I felt so relaxed and comfortable, and the city was beautiful.

Winter came and again the city and our apartment had a comfortable and cozy feel to it. We bought an awesome new bed which was so great. I am so happy that we did. I spent a special Christmas with nobody but my love, Blaine. We also went to Bright Nights in Edmonton. This was something that I wanted to do every year we lived in the city but this was the first time we actually did it.

For New Years we went to a Capital City Celebration in downtown Edmonton. This was the first time we did that. In January I decided it was about time that Blaine and I took a special vacation together. We booked our trip to Mexico for April!

In February, in the thick of the frozen Edmonton winter, we went to see Puddle of Mudd in concert. That was cool.

March brought us a new adventure to look forward to. Blaine got a good job in Cranbrook, B.C. He left in mid March to start his new job and we planned our move for May 1st. This was a great thing!

April 5th we left for Mexico. This was so awesome and something we will always remember fondly. I am so glad we did it! I was so special and we made some great friends from Texas while we were there who we are still in touch with. This is truly one of the best things we have ever done. On this trip we went swimming with dolphins... so special and unforgettable!!

May came and I moved to Cranbrook and we started a whole new chapter in our lives.

Since we have been living in Cranbrook, I had a nice holiday in Calgary while Blaine attended a conference for work. We then when out to Rouleau, Sk to experience Corner Gas and "Dog River". We have also now been to Washington, Idaho, and Montana and will be going back whenever we want because we are so close to all three states. It is great to be able to go shopping down there!

Also, at the end of June we went white water rafting. It was a great time and we want to do it again for sure!!

Well there it is. My look back on the past year of my life. A lot has happened. Things are going good and I am looking forward to the next year of my life!

Garden Tour

Today Blaine and I went on a garden tour. There were 6 gardens on the tour. They were all very beautiful and as we went through them I was thinking about how much I really want a yard of my own! The camera battery died before we finished the tour so these pictures are actually only from 4 of the 6 gardens.

I couldn't resist posting tons of pictures because they are all so pretty!!
